How hard do you need to press on the strings of an electric guitar?
Question by Boreddaily: How hard do you need to press on the strings of an electric guitar?
I am taking acoustic guitar lessons with a steel string guitar. After I get good enough at that, I plan on transitioning to electric. How hard do you need to press on electric strings as opposed to acoustic strings? As you know, steel strings hurt like crap! I probably will have built up callouses by the time I get to electric, but since the vibration doesn’t have to be that big, would the strings be easier on the fingers?

Press it half as you would the acoustic as it is more sensitive.
