I haven’t ever used that one, but it looks pretty good from the web site. I like the courses that show multiple frames with the music in one, someone playing and showing the fretboard on another, and you can actually hear what it sounds like. It’s almost like sitting with an instructor.

I’d say it probably doesn’t matter whether you have an acoustic or electric guitar for the beginning stuff. If you get into more advanced lead guitar techniques you’d probably want an electric guitar, but they play the same and the principles are the same. Actually, if you start on an acoustic, going to an electric later will be pretty easy. Going from electric to acoustic would be more difficult because acoustics usually have heavier strings, higher action, wider necks, and are just a little tougher to play cleanly.
