I’m going to be taking guitar lessons pretty soon and I need an acoustic guitar, but I would like to buy one that is going to last me a while and isn’t going to empty out my savings account. I heard that the Epiphone DR-100 is a pretty good 1st guitar (and it’s withing my budget), is there any truth to that?

Well, it’ll play, but it certainly won’t be anything spectacular. I strongly recommend you up the ante a bit, and shoot for something closer to $ 200-300. It will be well worth it in the long run.
