I have been playing for 1 year and went to my 3rd lesson today. All he gives me is scales and I have not learned one thing about the electric guitar. If I wanted to learn scales I would have looked them up on the internet or bought a book with them. Is this all he can teach me?

well i’ve been going to guitar lessons for a year now, and he gives me a lot of scales. And he teaches me how to play songs and he gives me some techniques. At first i thought this was a waste of money after a month but the more scales and songs he gives you makes you significantly better. But just ask him about the guitar, my teacher taught me most of the things i needed to know at that time. Now i just learn on my own. But in time it will pay off, give a couple of months. Just give it time.
